Torment

"So, I heard Coach has you on a special 'diet' to 'help' you land your double lutz" Ashley told me when I came into the locker room for practice this morning
"Yeah, so? I agree with her. I did put on a bit of weight last year when I was out with a concussion. what's wrong with a bit of healthy eating and excercize?"
"Nothing, except I do a 'bit' of healthy eating and excercize. You're going to need an extreme amount if you want to lose anything besides your spot on the team"
"Yeah, because I'm going to lose my spot because I'm a little overweight"
"You're more than a little, Mia, you're downright fat"
"Compared to you, I am, little miss toothpick. but in the normal world, I'm just fine"
"but we aren't in the normal world, we're in the skating world, and there, you're fat"
"So I'll lose the weight, no big deal"
"Let's see how that goes for you"
"Ashley, You're kinda new arround here, it's not really your place to challenge us, but, since you are, I accept. how much you wanna bet that I'll lose more than ten pounds by Thanksgiving?"
"That's somthing I'd like to see, however, I don't want to seperate you from you money, so, how about you lose the weight, you get the satisfaction of rubbing it in my face for the rest of the year, and if you don't, you clean the locker room. deal?"
"Deal." we shook on it. I'm highly competitive, so this'll be a breese. I'm gonna work harder than ever!

As usual, I awoke early this morning for my skating lessons. I managed to sneak out of the room without being heard by my roommates. I made the long walk down to the rink attached to the Good Sports Center and did all my usual pre-lesson warm ups like usual. before I put my skates on, Coach came over and told me she wanted me to work on my double lutz jump off-ice for a bit, so we did. I think I did ok, because we started doing it on ice, and I didn't do so great on it after that. I usually landed heavy or didn't land at all. I don't think I've been bruised this much in years. Before my lesson was over, Coach took me aside and said
"I think you might want to try losing some weight Mia, it might help you land your lutz neater."
"Um, o-ok" I've never really thought much about my weight, it's always been pretty healthy. I mean, my thighs have always been a little thick, but that's because hockey and skating take a lot of leg muscle
"Here's a recommended diet and exercise regimen for a figure skater your age and level" She handed me the paper, which was headed with the words
A FIGURE SKATER'S MEAL PLAN
Never skip breakfast,  eat a granola bar or piece of fruit before an early morning practice and have cereal with skim milk and fruit, or an egg and fruit and a glass of milk.
for a mid afternoon snack, eat a granola bar, fruit or yogurt.
For lunch, vegetable soup or a turkey sandwich with whole wheat bread an low fat mayo.
A good afternoon snack would be fruit, peanut butter crackers, or a slice of cheese
Dinnertime you usually want to include a lean meat (turkey, chicken or lean beef) along with a salad or other green vegetable, a potato or other starch in some form (eg. rice, corn, whole wheat bread)
Milk and ghram crackers are a good choice for an evening snack, as long as it is eaten at least an hour before sleep.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!
this is a guide, use your own discretion on healthy choices for your meals and snacks. sweets are fine on occasion in moderation.

A FIGURE SKATER'S EXERCISE PLAN
outside of figure skating itself, a skate should
do thirty min's. of cardio daily (eg. a stationary bike, elliptical machine or treadmill)
one hour of weight training three times a week
off ice stretching exercises twice daily

I already don't skip breakfast, and the off ice stretches are mandatory for the team, so that's not a problem, but the other stuff will take some doing. my lesson was over, so i went to the locker rooms to change before classes started. I looked myself over in the mirror. I guess I am getting a little chubby around my stomach, and maybe my hips. but I can't be that heavy right? I may be a little thicker than like, Ashely or Brooklyn, but that doesn't mean I'm fat, at least I'm proportionate right? or maybe not. I'm going to take this seriously and land that lutz!

Life Stinks

That just about sums up my life since school started. somehow, even though I spefically asked NOT to be put in the same room as Jenna, Rana and Makenze, I still am, and they are driving me crazier than ever before. to make it worse, there's a new girl who's joined the skate team, Ashley, and she's already running the show. she dosen't like me, and has managed to pit everyone against me, because no one on the team is talking to me except my coach. I'm not sure what she did to do that, but I'm going to try to find out. plus, having broken up with Trevor, I don't hang out with his group anymore, so I'm going though life friendless right now. I mean, I have my sisters, and I consider you readers my friends, but that's not the same as having friends from school. Things better change or it's going to be a lonely year

Summer Picnic

Hey Guys! We had a Fourth of July picnic yesterday! it was tons of fun! Meline let each of us invite about three friends over, though Lanie, Josefina and I only invited two. But Meline's boyfriend came over and our little twin sisters, Ariel and Jasmine joined in too. if you are counting, that's 25 people! it was tons of fun, crazy loud and we ate mountains of food. I am so sick of hamburger smell that I'm now considering becoming a vegetarian. We had a massive game of Capture the Flag, and when it got dark, we played Ghost in the Graveyard. then we all walked over to the park, where Brooklyn got to sing the National Anthem before the start of the fireworks! it was really cool and she did really good. the fireworks were phenomenal. Lanie and her friend Wendell from her photography club even got some cool pictures of them. they arn't on my computer though, so i can't post them. :(  but overall, it was a really fun day! :D

Sorry!!

Sorry I haven't posted in forever guys!! there just hasn't been anything exciting to post about! now there is though! School's out and so is our air conditioner! it's hotter inside than outside and it's 80 degrees outside lately so we've been dying! we've broken out the summer wear though and I've taken to wearing a bikini top and a skirt to keep cool. one coo thing that's come out of it though is that we've discovered that Felicity is a great hairstylist! she's done everyone's hair is cute summer styles. we are trying fun things to do this summer, so please feel free to give us some ideas!

Confused

sorry I haven't posted in awhile. The last few weeks have been a blur. not the crazy excitement blur, but the depressed blur. i haven't spoken to Trevor since the breakup. I've hardly even seen him. what makes it worse is that the Spring Fling is on Friday. Trevor and I were planning to go to it, but obviously that's not happening now. the problem is, I've decided that I want him back. he did say he was going to break up with Rana, and The Bible says to forgive, so I wanna give him another chance. I'm not sure if he is still going with Rana, she doesn't speak to me either. The thing is, I'm not sure if I want to just ask him to go to the fling with me, or get a guy friend to go as my "date" and make him Jealous. I'm gonna put up a poll, so please vote!!

A Step in the Right Directon

I didn't ask him to the dance. I didn't try to make him jealous either. I ended up going alone. well, with Brooklyn and her friends as a girl pack. I talked to him for a little bit. He was still with Rana, but we did dance for a little while. we are going to get together to talk things over tomorrow. I'm not sure how it'll turn out, but i certantly don't wanna not talk like we've been doing

I went down to our usual meeting spot and saw him standing there in his pregame tee shirt and jeans. i said hi and he asked
"why'd you call me a cheater?"

"what?"
"I saw you kissing Rana Stanley yesteday!!"
"oh, you saw that?"
"yeah i saw it! when did that happen?!"
"while you were out for your concussion. Rana and I kinda started hanging out. then i thought i liked her but-"
"so when were you planning to break up with me? or did you just intend to have two girlfriends at the same time without considering the fact she's my roommate!?"
"um, actually thats what i was trying to do yesterday. but before i got a chance, she leaned over and kissed me."
"well, it looked like you were perfectly happy kissing her back!"
"I-I was weak. I'll break up with her I promise. as soon as you came back, I realized that i cared about you more. it was a mistake to ever go out with her. i'm really sorry. can we go now?"
"no, you can go. I'm not going anywhere with you ever again Trevor Morkin!"
"oh-ok then. bye" he said as he walked away. i ran back up into my room and cried into my pillow. they lost the game. i can't help that feel like it was partly my fault. do you think i was too hard on him?

The Cheater.

"Hey Josefina!" i said as i caught up with my sister on my walk back to the dorms.
"Hi Mia!" Josefina responded. "how's life?"
"Pretty good. Trevor's hockey team is in the playoffs. i'm going to watch his game tomorrow night. I'm so excited!"
"that's good. how are things going with you two?"
"Fine. we havn't gotten to spend a whole lot of time together since break, since it is only the first day back, but we are going to dinner tomorrow before the game"
"That's Great" we were walking through Five Points Plaza and Josefina found one of her friends. "Bye Mia!"  she said
"Bye Josie!"
I continued my walk alone. passing the Library, i saw Trevor stitting on a bench. I gasped.

I'M BACK!!

Hey guys!! Long time no post! I'm just about all better now. I had a concusion and couldn't do anything. no school, no skating no computer, no t.v. no reading. nothin. it was a rather borring three weeks. i stayed home that whole time. I got pretty bored, but Trevor, Additha, Kaylyn, and my sisters all took turns comming over after school to visit with me. the only problem is that now i'm really behind in schoolwork. There's a Spring Fling comming up at school. Trevor and I are planning to go together (of course!) skating's over for the year, so i have more time in a day to spend catching up on school. I can't say my return was welcome for Jenna, Makenze and Rana, however. I started back yesteday and when I came into the room, all I was a scarcastic "so you're back" from Jenna, and a dirty look from Rana while Makenze didn't say anything and tried to ignore me. so yeah, thank goodness there's only a month of school left.

She's Ok

Mia's ok. she's not gonna die. she woke up this afternoon. she still can't post because she can't use the computer, or watch tv or listen to music. she can't really do anything that stimulates her brain, or it will cause more damage. she has a sever concussion and probably won't be posting for awhile, but if i know Mia, she won't let the blog go unused and will post herself as soon as she can.

Not good

hey guys, Josefina here, giving you an update on Mia. I'm sure you can guess that because I'm posting, something is wrong with Mia. and with that guess, you are sadly correct. Mia's ice skating competition was on Saturday, and her routine went really well, until the end. she took a fall doing her lutz and fell in such a way that her blade hit her head, hard. luckily it wasn't the sharp part, but it was in just the right position to knock her out. she went unconscious and still is. because of the way her leg twisted, it's also broken in three places. her blade just missed the part of her head that could've killed her instantly. she's still alive, but we arn't sure for how long. we will make sure to keep you updated

Sorry So Short

Hey Guys. I thought i'd give you and update on my routine. it's going really great. I'm having tons of fun with it. Coach Demi has me doing some of my most difficult jumps, but i'm working hard and i've almost got it. the compitition is 3 days away and of course i'm super excited. i'm also really nervous too. Sorry this post is so short, Jenna Makenze and Rana are going to bed early for once, and i don't want to miss out on this unexpected treat and get sent to the hallway ;)

Skating Competition!!!

I am going to compete in a skating competition! it with be the first one that the Skating Stars Skate Team (FYISA's Skate team) will be represented at a competition! they have only had the figure skating program this school year, and it took them awhile to get all the paperwork done for ISI (Ice Skating Institute) and get approved, so we are coming in a little late. but ISI is all about the fun of competition, we don't have to be there from the beginning of the season and qualify, we can participate in a more local one. I haven't competed since I was 11, so this  should be really fun! I am skating to the song "Walk on Water" by Britt Nicole. I am really excited about it!!! the competition is on March 26th, I am competing as a Freestyle 5. we are just now working on the choreography, I'll let you know more details as they come :)

He's SOOOO Sweet!

well, it's Valentine's Day, also known as my big date with Trevor. Brooklyn did let me use her pink dress she is wearing for a movie she is in for Dolldiva Productions. so I wore that and Amanda did my hair up really fancy, in a half and half style. I met him outside Brightstar House at 5, just like he said. he was dressed in a tuxedo with a white rose in the button hole  Together we walked over to his dad's parked car. we got in the back seat of the minivan and i discovered that they had made the backseat look like it was a limo! they had taken the captian's chairs out so that it was just the bench seat in the back. in the middle of the bench, there was a big teddy bear holding flowers with Be Mine written on his tummy. we sat down and he made the bear pretend to give me the white roses. by now his dad had started going "do I get to know where we are going?" I asked Trevor, as they had blacked out the back windows and put a screen between us and his dad.
"nope, it's a specal suprise"
"ok then"
after we drove for awhile, I heard music booming outside. his dad stopped the car, got out and opened our door, revealing a red carpet and velvet ropes.
"what's going on?" I asked him
"you'll see" he said misterously
we got out, and it was like a movie premere. there were a bunch of people standing outside the ropes taking pictures, and further ahead on the carpet, I saw Trevor's friends and their girlfriends, also in tuxes and fancy dresses. I heard a voice say "Trevor Morkin and Mia St'Clair have just arrived in a gorogous Honda Odssey Mia is displaying a dazzling hot pink floor lingth dress with gathered straps" we contuned walking down the red carpet, twards what I realized to be someone's house. before we entered, someone dressed like a newscaster held a microphone up to my face and said
"so, Mia, what do you think of all this excitement?"
"I-I don't know what to think, i'm still a little confused"
"well Trevor, why don't you go inside and make your movie selection"
Trevor led me inside to what was decorated to look like a movie theater entrance.
"so, what would you like to watch? Letter's to Juliet? Sense and Sensibility? Valentine's Day? Starstruck?"
"Sense and Sensibility. It's one of my favorates, besides the Harry Potter movies, that is"
"Is that just because Alan Rickman is in it?" (Alan Rickman play's Professor Snape in the Harry Potters, and Col. Christopher Brandon in Sense and Sensibility.)
"no, that's not why. but I do enjoy seeing him playing someone so opposite in personality from Snape"
"I see" he walked up to the ticket seller and said "two for Sense and Sensibility, please"
"here you are"
"Thanks"
we walked down a halway and down some stairs until we got to a doorway with a woman standing by it collecting tickets. she gave Trevor a look and he wispered "it was her choice, Mom"
"Mom?" I asked him
"yeah, that's my mom"
"can you maybe explain all of this now?"
"yeah, sure. me and my friends wanted to do somthing really specal for our girlfriends, so we decided to have a really specal movie night, and make it be like a movie premere, but let you pick what movie you wanted to watch. we got all our parents involved, and Maddog's parents let us use their house for it."
"that's really sweet Trevor" he blushed. then the movie started.
when we were back at school, he walked me out.
"Thank you so much Trevor"
"You're welome, I'm glad you liked it. the bear and necklace too" (he gave me a silver heart shaped locket wth Trevor + Mia on the inside)
"they are so sweet, you're so sweet"
"I am?"
"yeah"
"I think I may be losing my hockey player toughness" he said with a laugh
"maybe, but, I like it." then he leaned over and kissed me! <3

Well, that was certantly intresting. as I said in my last post, I was going to check out the Harry Potter fan club at my school. well, I walked in the door and...
"ohmigosh it's Ginny!" said the girl who appeared to be the leader

"YES! maybe not so much like the girl who plays Ginny, but definatly the book version"

life could be better.........

well, we moved in to our dorms Sunday. and I met Jenna, Makenze and Rana. they're far from nice. none of them are skaters. Jenna is a Cheerleader, Makenze in a dancer, and Rana, well, i am not quite sure what she does. unfortunatly, not being skaters, they dont' understand my need to be on the ice praticing by 5:30 am. Luckly, I have always been in the routine of nighttime showers, or else i would really be in trouble. well, i am sorry, but it is kinda hard to sneak out quietly when they have all kinds of stuff on the floor. boy, did I hear it from them. Jenna kinda layed down the law
 "you can't wake us up, you can't have your skate stuff everywhere, or your books, and you can't stay up super late. if you are loud, you are dead, and, under no circumstances should i find flashlights, cell phones, ipods or laptop lights comming from under your covers, and you will be in the hallway with a sleeping bag faster than you can say "sleeping bag" understand?"

so yeah, this will be fun *groan* and I should point out, that they leave all thier stuff everywhere, and stay up later than me, giving me no reason whatsoever to have lights comming out from my covers, seeing as i have to hide my head under them if i want to be alseep before midnight, which is always a problem due to their blasting music. I saw a flyer on the Brightstar house buliten board giving information about a Harry Potter fan club. they have a meeting tomorrow night, maybe i will go check it out. give myself another brightspot, cuz right now, the only brightspots are skating, and Trevor.

Boarding School

that's right, what "Mom" called about was to tell us that she is making us all board at FYISA.  Brooklyn and I are ok with it, which isn't what I can say about the others

"Leave Eliza Starr?!?" Amanda moaned
"But I LIKE being homeschooled" Felicity chipped in

Josefina was trying to be optomistic with:

obvously, that was weak, and (no offence girls) only her and Lanie care, and she hadn't responded, because untill she is offically adopted by 'Mom' Lanie gets to pick if she wants to stay at GGA or switch to FYISA. (I mean no disrespect when i call her mom with the ' ' but she dosn't feel like my mom for obvous reasons) i don't mind very much, because it gives me to oppertunity to skate more. Brooklyn dosn't mind either because she has always wanted to go to a boarding school. granted, we aren't changing schools like the other girls either, so that could explain why we are more optomistic. we move in on sunday. Brooklyn is taking the extra bed in Meghan's room, Amanda, Josefina and Felicity are staying together, and I am staying with three girls named Jenna, Makenze and Rana. I am really hoping they are nice

Mom?!

Apparently, we have a mom. well, Meline's mom. she is millionaire hotel owner who has a soft spot for kids in need. that's why she adopted all of us. of course, she's so busy that she just adopts us and sends us to live with Meline. anyhow, the other day, we were all sitting around doing homework or chatting with Meline, the phone rang.
"It's Mom" Meline announced, walking into the other room
"Who's 'Mom'" I asked
"Our Mom" Josefina explained, like it was obvious
"we have a 'Mom'? I thought Meline was our guardian"
"She is, but she's 17, she can't be our adopted mother, but she can be a designated guardian" Amanda shared
"so what's 'Mom' like?" I asked
"Mom's a millionaire who owns a hotel company, she has a soft spot for orphan girls, so she gives us a better home. she used to live here with us, when she only had one hotel, but after she built more, she had to travel alot, so she made Meline our legal guardian so she could sign our school forms, go to parent teacher confrences, ectera. It was nice when she was here. I think I am the only one of us who has actually spent a signfigant ammount of time with her, since she left not long after she adopted Amanda" Josefina explained.
"that's right, I have only met her once, when her, Meline and Josefina came to the orphanage to adopt me." Amanda said
"I only know her because Meline and Josefina somtimes talk about her" Brooklyn added
"the only reason she ever calls, at least that we know of, is when she is adopting another girl, but she usually tries to give us at least a couple months for us to get to know each other before sending us more girls, so this is weird"
"I will tell them right now. Love you Mom, Bye" Meline said as she walked back into the room
"So, what's her name?" Felicity asked, slightly annoyed
"what's who's name?" Meline asked
"our new sister's"
"I don't know, mom hasn't picked up on anyone yet."
"then what's up?" Josefina asked, sounding worried

EEEEE!!!!!

OH. MY. GOSH. TREVOR ASKED ME TO THE WINTER FORMAL!!!! yep, that's right. he asked me at lunch today. I was soo excited, It was all I could to to actually put a response together. as it is, I think it came out somthing like: "Dance? You and Me? YES!" I  am afraid I was a little too excited and happy, or he was afraid I would say no, because he got a look of bewilderment and seemed to have almost enough trouble saying "should i pick you up" I answered sure, and then we had to get to class. as I walked down the hall to my classroom, it hit me "what am I going to wear?!?" I freaked to Brooklyn on the way home. her and her friends got thier dresses yesterday, but i didn't go with them, because i was so sure he wouldn't ask me. we got home, and i started tearing through our closet, throwing clothes willy nilly on my sisters "woah, what's the big rush Mia?" Josefina asked. I didn't bother stopping to explain, I had 3 hours before the dance, and I had to get completly ready before Trevor picked me up. the dance wasn't until 7, but he was picking me up at 6:30 and we were going to his friend Jason's house, along with his other friends and their dates. i scrambled arround searching. the only problem is that my sister's don't own any fancy dresses our wardobe consists or 45% dresses and skirts, but not fancy ones. I ended up deciding on wearing my pink skating dress. then I hopped in the shower, Amanda did my hair all fancy, i ate a quick dinner, got my makeup on, brushed my teeth, and put my dress on, and i must say, the final result was pretty amazing. then Trevor picked me up, and we went to Jason's house, I was offically introduced to all his friends and thier girlfriends/dates and Jason's parents took lots of pictures, promising to send them to all our parents. then we all went to school, and danced the night away. the Chior got up and sang  when they played "Don't Stop Belivein'" but they did it on improv and they hammed it up so it was really funny. it was nice getting to know some kids who don't hang out with Brooklyn, girls (and boys) who are more part of my crowd,all the guys are on the hockey team, the Shooting Stars, and 2 of the girls were skaters, like me. the rest were cheerleaders. but they were all really nice, and at the end of it all, when the night was over, Trevor asked if I would be intresed in going to dinner tomorrow!  I said yes, of course. :D

Crush

ok, I definitely have a crush on Trevor. we've hung out at school together for the past few days. I have eaten lunch with him, and walked with him to a couple of our classes, and he has hung arround after hocky practice to watch me skate. I'm not sure if he has a crush on me or not, but i sure hope so. we haven't talked about the dance yet, but i do know that he dosen't have a date yet. he also knows i don't. maybe there is hope? :)

Trevor

well, now i know who i want to go the the Winter Formal with. weather or not he will actually ask me is another thing, but, as stated above, his name is Trevor. I decided to go to the skating rink at school for a little extra pratice this afternoon (they host public skating on weekends) against my better judgement because i knew it would be packed, and when there are a lot of people arround it is really hard for me to pratice, but i really wanted to skate, so i went anyway. when Meline pulled up to the parking lot, it was way busier than i expected, but i decided to stay. the problem is that i forgot how many boys skate arround like crazy hockey players assuming everyone will move out of thier way. that drives me CRAZY!!! I don't have anything against hockey or hockey players, after all, i used to be one. I just mind people who skate like them during public sessions. after skating arround for about a half hour and observing that there was a group of little boys (probably 9 or 10) and a bunch of teenage boys who go to my school who were skating like hockey players. i skated arround a few more times, and the next thing i know, the teenagers come barreling at me. i managed to avoid all but the last, who crashed into me and we both fell. He had dark hair and green eyes and looked very strong, as most hockey players are. he got up instantly and then helped me up
"are you ok?" he asked, sounding pretty concerned
"yeah, I'm fine, I'm a figure skater, so i am pretty used to falling" i said with a laugh
"you're a skater?"
"yeah, since i was about ten"
"cool"
"do you play hockey or do you just like to skate arround like a mainac?"
"yeah, i am on the team here, it's also where i go to school. where do you go?"
"I go here, I am part of the skating program. I'm Mia, by the way"
"I'm Trevor. do you like hockey?"
"actually, i used to play it, my older brothers were all on teams, and i was too, untill i decided to stop skating in thier shadows and do my own thing"
"cool. well, I should probably go, see you arround Mia." he said with a smile as he skated off.

we both contued skating for a while, and waved at each other somtimes when we passed. when I landed my Waltz jump, he gave me a thumbs up. not long after, I went home. i can't wait for school tomorrow to see him again!

the Winter Formal

hey guys, sorry i haven't posted, but i have been busy with my skating. though, i should probably stop apologizing right now, or every post will start with that. you may have read on Brooklyn's blog that our school is having a Winter Formal on the 14th. Brooklyn and her friends are planning on going stag together, and invited me to go with them too. i don't want to sound like a jerk, but i don't think i want to go without a date. although that probably means i am not going, because, well, i am brand new at the school, like any boys would have even noticed me yet. i know it would be a great opportunity to meet new friends, but, i don't know. should i go anyway?

I already said this, but i am a figure skater, and i wanted to be able to make post about my training and life at Follow your Innerstar Academy. my school,where i am going to be partcipating in thier Figure Skating Program. being a busy girl, i may not be able to post constatly, but don't be put off by that, i will try to do one every few weeks.
